Structure & water
Smallest of the three Greensboro water-supply reservoirs — a 1956 impoundment of Brush Creek. Eutrophic, green-stained Piedmont reservoir; mean depth only ~11 ft with the deepest water held near the dam. Dense lily-pad flats blanket the upper end toward the Hwy 220 crossing, with wooded creek arms and clay points throughout.

Local tip
Don't try to power into the upper Hwy 220 flats — it's nearly a flooded field. Launch a kayak from the marina, paddle up the channel past the greenway bridge, and work the 3–5 ft strip where the channel meets the pads. Almost nobody fishes back there.
