When to Throw
Good Water
Prespawn grass flats (red/craw), fall shad movement (chrome/shad/gold), wind-blown flats and points with bait, sparse grass that lets the bait tick and rip free, cold water with the yo-yo retrieve.
Bad Water
Matted grass that buries the hooks, heavy wood/brush/dock cables, straight mud with no visibility and no baitfish signs.
