Privacy Policy

This page is maintained by the JPFish app owner to explain what data the App collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. JPFish ("we", "us") operates jpfish.app.

1. What we collect

Account info: email address and (optionally) name and avatar from Google sign-in.
Catch logs: species, length, weight, lake, technique, notes, and timestamps you submit.
Photos: images you upload with your catches.
Location: only when you grant browser permission, used to show local conditions and nearby lakes. We do not continuously track your location.
Group & tournament activity: groups you join, tournament entries, and leaderboard scores.
Device & usage: basic browser/device info and error logs for reliability.

2. How we use it

To run the App: store your catches, show conditions, power leaderboards, sync across devices.
To improve features and fix bugs.
To send transactional emails (sign-in, account, group invites). We do not send marketing email without your consent.

3. What's visible to others

Catches you add to a group or tournament are visible to members of that group/tournament and may appear on public leaderboards. Your profile name/avatar may be shown next to your entries. You can delete entries at any time.

4. Service providers

We use the following third parties to operate the App:

Lovable Cloud — hosting, database, authentication, and file storage.
Google — optional sign-in (OAuth).
Weather and solunar data providers — to display forecasts, water, and bite-time data.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers.

5. Cookies & local storage

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences (theme, last-viewed lake). We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

6. Data retention

We keep your catches and account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data and User Content are removed from active systems; residual copies in backups expire on a routine rotation.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g., California, EU/UK), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly from your Profile page, or by emailing info@jpfish.app.

8. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

9. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and row-level access controls in our database. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
