Long casts: Big hard swimbaits work best when fish have time to track them naturally.

Don't overwork it: Start with a slow steady swim, then add pauses and twitches only around targets.

Watch followers: A follower tells you the bait is right but the trigger is wrong — change cadence.

Check hardware often: Big baits, long casts, and heavy line punish weak hooks and split rings.

When to Throw

Good Water

Wind or light chop, low light / clouds / early-late / pre-front, visible baitfish or bluegill activity, followers and wolf packs, suspended fish near cover.

Bad Water

Heavy floating trash that fouls trebles every cast, matted vegetation where exposed trebles can't come through, ultra-clear/calm/pressured days unless downsizing or making very long casts.
