60-Second Refresher

The lure: Raid Japan Fish Roller Jerk Minnow 4" — slender body, square cross-section, designed to roll and flash in place on a 90° line-tie head.

The 90° line tie: Use a perpendicular line-tie jig head. That tie is what makes the bait roll side-to-side instead of swimming forward.

Roll, don't swim: Small wrist pulses on light tension — never a full sweep. The whole presentation is a wounded baitfish rolling in place.

Cast, count, pulse: Cast past the target, count down to the fish's level, then pulse in place above their nose.

When to Throw

Good Water

Suspended bass over deep water or brush, FFS targets that follow but won't commit, clear to lightly stained water, cold winter fish that want a slow rolling profile, post-front pressured fish on points and timber.

Bad Water

Muddy water where fish can't track subtle roll, heavy grass or wood that demands a weedless rig, high wind that prevents controlling slack and watching the line.
