Good Water

Cadence
Pop-pause with intent — three modes
Cast tight to the target — dock post, laydown, shade line. Accuracy matters more than distance. Let it sit until the splashdown rings disappear. Give one sharp forward snap to create the pop and splash. Pause — let the rings fully dissipate before moving again; this is where most strikes happen. Default rhythm is 2-pop-pause — two pops close together, then a long pause. Aggressive rapid pops for schooling or actively feeding fish that want reaction speed. Single pop with a long pause for pressured fish or dead-calm water where subtlety wins. If a fish blows up and misses, stop completely for a few seconds, then give one soft pop — don't rip it away. If a fish follows without committing, let the bait sit dead still.
