Start with the 4.5" RaZor ShadZ when you want a jointed baitfish wiggle without paddle-tail thump: clear or lightly stained water, pressured fish, and slower retrieves in cooler water are good starting points. Its segmented body and forked tail follow the blade's vibration without overpowering it. Choose ChatterShad when you want a thin fan tail that flaps and quivers — useful around stained water, wind-blown grass, and actively feeding fish. Both are durable ElaZtech trailers and both work in clear or stained water; water clarity alone is not a cutoff. Rig either straight on the hook so the blade runs freely. For repeated short strikes or smaller forage, try the 3.5" ChatterShad rather than assuming the 4.5" RaZor ShadZ is a smaller profile.

Where to Throw Each
Grass flats / hydrilla / pads
Cover water — find pockets, points, ditches. Rip through grass.
Boat docks — parallel
Line should rub the poles. Fish feel vibration from 2–3 poles away. Hit corners.
Grass edges / drop-offs
Throw past, retrieve through the transition.
Grass tops (shallow)
3/8 oz, keep bait just above the canopy.
Points / cuts / ditches in grass
Key ambush spots — slow down and work thoroughly.
Cheat Sheet
